Fortieth wedding anniversary Sept. 9, 2002
Allen and Gloria Madison of Slidell will celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary Sept. 9, 2002.
They were married Sept. 9, 1962, in San Antonio.
They have one daughter, Genise Miller and husband Lee of Slidell and a grandson, Brody, 2.
Allen works for Krum ISD and Gloria is a secretary at Slidell Elementary School. They are both members of the Slidell Baptist Church.

Julia Wingfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wingfield of Kilgore will marry Jonathon Mager March 16, 2002, at Forest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore.
The bride-elect teaches first grade at Alvord ISD.
The prospective groom is employed in the trucking industry.
They are actively involved in ministries at the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport.
They will live in Bridgeport.

The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Colorado City High School and attends Western Texas College.
The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Decatur High School. He also attends Western Texas College.

Traci Leigh Thompson of Bridgeport, daughter of Carolyn Thompson of Runaway Bay and Ron Thompson of Fort Worth will marry Tracy Heigh Martin of Bridgeport, son of Tom and Pauline Martin of Wink, July 26, 2002, at First United Methodist Church in Decatur with the Rev. Rusty Hedges officiating.
The bride-elect graduated from Decatur High School and attends the Nursing School at North Central Texas College. She is employed by Augus Health Care Center.
The prospective groom graduacted from Wink High School and is employed by Crisp Welding Service.

Mauldin - Mildred and Harvey Mauldin
Sixtieth wedding anniversary Feb. 14, 2002
Mildred and Harvey Mauldin of Decatur celebrated their 60th anniversary Feb. 14, 2002. Several members of their family traveled to Decatur over the weekend to help them celebrate.
Mildred Marsh and Harvey Mauldin were married in Okalona in Clark County, Ark., on February 14, 1942.
They have four children, Michael, Jane, Kimberley and Sara.
They also have 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

McCarn - Laura Cannon and Rodney McCarn Jr.
Marriage vows to be exchanged July 20, 2002
Laura Michele Cannon of Sunset, daughter of Herb Cannon of Sunset and Joy Cannon of Lake Charles, La., will marry Rodney Dale McCarn Jr. of Montague, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney McCarn Sr. of Montague, July 20, 2002, at the First Baptist Church of Alvord with the Rev. Scott Brooks of the First Baptist Church of Archer City officiating.
The bride-elect is a 1996 graduate of Alvord High School. She is a communications major at Tarleton State University, specializing in public relations and journalism.
The prosepctive groom is a 1998 Bowie High School graduate. He is a marketing major at TSU.

McGhee - Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McGhee
Marriage vows exchanged July 13, 2002
DeAnn Marie Freeman and Ricky Wayne McGhee were married June 22, 2002, at The Chapel in Trophy Club. Judge Willard French officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Joe and Arveta Freeman of Eldorado.
The groom is the son of Harold and LeaRae McGhee of Keller.
The bride wore a white silk gown, with straight skirt and cap sleeves of lace and pearls. She carried a bouquet of cardena with pink roses and yellow daisies wrapped in lavender ribbon.
The bride’s maid of honor was her daughter, Casey Shade of Valley Ranch. She carried a spring bouquet of yellow and pink flowers with gardenias, wrapped with lavender ribbon.
The candles were lighted by the parents of the bride and groom.
The ringbearer was Devin Ozowski, the bride’s son.
Ushers were Cody Castro of Keller and Case Lasater of Fort Worth.
Music was provided by pianist Barbara Janovetz of Colleyville and soloist Billy Myers of Arlington.
The bride is a graduate of Tarleton State University and works for American Airlines.
The groom is a 1983 graduate of Texas Wesleyan University with a bachelor of business administration degree. He is the operations manager for Harolds Foods, owners of Texas Reds Restaurant in Blue Mound. Following a wedding trip to Red River, N.M., the couple reside in Rhome.

McKay - Darius and Ruth McKay
50th Wedding Anniversary Aug. 4, 1952
Rev. Darius and Ruth McKay will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception and open house Aug. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.
They were married Aug. 4, 1952, in Montague County.
Their children are Shirley Ruth Andrews of Irving, Darese Elaine Cotton of Wichita Falls, Volanda Sue Kaufman of Perryton and Darius Lee McKay Jr. of Colleyville. They have 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Darius is a Baptist minister and Ruth is a children’s church director and homemaker. They are both semi-retired and living in Bonita. He pastored at churches in Bonita, Leona, Bellevue, Wichita Falls, Bowie, Randlett, Holliday, Carter Lake, Montague and Myra.

McKibben - Mr. and Mrs. J.W. McKibben
Marriage vows exchanged July 13, 2002
J.W. McKibben and Donna Pitts were married July 13, 2002, at the Decatur Civic Center. Pastor Tim Staub officiated the ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her son, Tim Lee. Other bridal party members included daughters, Summer McKibben and Brandy Pitts and son, Johnathon McKibben.
The bride is the daughter of Bobby and Myria Damron of Boyd and the late Feryl Lee.
The groom is the son of Jerry McKibben and Marybeth McKibben of Tahoka.
Following a cruise, the couple and their four children reside in Boyd.

Amanda Marie Rosensteel and Christopher Elliott McMaster were married May 11, 2002, at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock. The Rev. Dusty Thompson officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Judy Rosensteel of Tomball. The groom is the son of Rick and Theresa McMaster of Decatur.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless white dress with short veil.
A reception followed at the church.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Kline High School in Spring and graduated from Texas Tech University in December, 2001. She is employed with Campus Crusades for Christ at Texas Tech.
The groom is a 1998 graduate of Decatur High School and will graduate from Texas Tech in December this year .
Following a wedding trip to Thailand the couple reside in Lubbock.

Middleton - Francene and Garland Middleton
Thirtieth wedding anniversary May 12, 2002
Garland and Francene Middleton celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary May 11, 2002, at the Trail Dust Steak House. Middleton and the former Francene Pentecost were married May 12, 1972, in Brownwood.
They have five children, Debi Pettiet and Derick Middleton, both of Abernathy, Dawna Middleton and Dustin Middleton, both of Decatur and Drue Middleton of Denton and seven grandchildren.
He is employed by Verizon. She is employed at the Denton County District Attorney’s office. They are both members of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.

Shyla Jo Ramsey will marry Joseph Allen Moore Nov. 9, 2002, at The Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Robert and Sherrie Ramsey of Paradise. She is a 2001 graduate of Bridgeport High School and is employed by the First National Bank, Boyd branch.
The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Bridgeport High School. He is a recent graduate of CCI in Irving with a certificate in computer networking. He is employed by Jupiter Communities LLS in Irving.

Sara Kay Leake of Decatur and Steven Glenn Oates of Decatur were married July 20, 2002, at Grace Baptist Church in Decatur. Dr. Van Gardner officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Tammy Durham and Joe and Donna Leake, all of Decatur. The groom is the son of Chuck and Lura Oates of Decatur.
Escorted by her father, Joe Leake, the bride wore a chapel-length white gown featuring a full beaded top with clear sequins and pearls. The eight-layered, satin and tulle skirt was accented with a white satin hem and was adorned with sequins and pearls. The matching headpiece was decorated with pearls and silver and clear sequin. She carried a fresh bouquet of oriental lilies, baby’s breath and white roses.
Maid of honor was Kate Fostel of Decatur. Bridesmaids were Stormy Miller, Michelle Henderson, Patti Miller and Lacey Oates, sister of the groom, all of Decatur and Elizabeth Kimball of Bridgeport. They wore sunset-colored, orange dresses featuring sequin, strapless tops. They carried fresh boquets of orange roses, baby’s breath and purple flowers.
The flower girl was Shannon Bracken, cousin of the bride, daughter of Johnny and Katy Bracken.
Candlelighters were Lee Durham, brother of the bride, and Justin Bridges, cousin of the groom, both of Decatur.
The ringbearer was Conner Watts, cousin of the groom and the son of Dale and Celissa Watts of Decatur.
Best man was Cody Cornell of Decatur. Groomsmen were Michael Loucks, cousin of the groom, Danny Leake, brother of the bride, Aaron Hughes, Matt Teichelman and Lance Prescott.
Ushers were Mark Ary, Justin Horton, Jeremy Davis, brother of the bride, and Chad Oates, cousin of the groom.
Guest book attendant was Cassie Coale of Decatur.
The String Quartet of the University of North Texas in Denton provided the music.
Soloist was Nancy Dwyer, aunt of the bride.

The bride-elect is a 1993 graduate of Decatur High School. She attended Midwestern State University where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She will graduate in June from the University of North Texas. She is employed at Billing Professionals of Texas.
The prospective groom is a 1989 graduate of Rider High School in Wichita Falls. He attended MSU where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He attended UNT and is a manager at Little Guys Movers in Denton.

Marriage vows exchanged April 27, 2002
Jana Lockett and Shane Onstead were married April 27, 2002, at the Texas Sundown Ranch in Sanger. The Rev. Keith Killoren officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mike Lockett of Decatur. The groom is the son of Sue Witherspoon and the late Clay Witherspoon of Wichita Falls.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless matte-satin, A-line gown with beading and embroidery bordering the top. The back was highlighted by tiny buttons down the middle to the end of the chapel-length train. The veil was made of tulle accented with pearls and edged in satin trim falling to the middle of the back. The top was made of pearls and crystal.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of stephanotis, calla lilies, roses and hydrangeas.
The bride’s honor attendant was Rhonda Jones of New York City. Bridesmaids were Jana Holland of Wichita Falls and Jennifer Onstead of Denton.
Best man was Cody Onstead of Denton. Groomsmen were Doug Onstead of Frisco and Jeff Floyd of Lewisville.
The flower girl was Ashley McLean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McLean, of Vernon. Ringbearer was Hudson Onstead, son of Doug and Kati Onstead and Melissa Onstead, of Frisco.
Ushers were John Lockett of Decatur, Buck Bendickson of Denton, Kevin Kirkland of Frisco and Shane Lee of Gainesville.
Candlelighters were Bo and Cheyenne Roscoe of Gooding, Ill. Guestbook attendant was Melissa Roscoe of Gooding.
The bridesmaids wore two-piece, A-line, sleeveless dresses in Victorian lilac. Each carried a hand-tied bouquet of lilac roses.
Music was provided by harpist Patricia Ann Diers of Denton.
A reception at the ranch followed the ceremony with music provided by Kemp Road.
The bride is a 1993 graduate of Decatur High School. She attended Midwestern State University and graduated in Aug. 2002 from the University of North Texas. She works for Billing Professionals of Texas. The groom works for Little Guys Movers.
The couple reside in Denton.

Parker - Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Lynn Parker
Marriage vows exchanged Sept. 28, 2002
Tracy Lynn Barclay of Alvord, daughter of Maggie Barclay of Alvord and the late Otis Barclay, and Ronnie Lynn Parker of Alvord, son of Ricky and Sandy Parker of Alvord, were married Sept. 28, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Alvord. Rev. Bill Cleveland officiated the double ring ceremony.
Escorted by her brother, James Barclay of Alvord, the bride wore a white gown of Italian satin and English net with a square neckline, deep-V back and Basque waist. The ball gown skirt had four increasing layers of two-ply English netting which formed a flounced, chapel length train. The completely beaded gown was embellished with Austrian crystals and clear bugle beads. She carried a mixed bouquet of yellow, orange, cream, burgundy and mauve calla lilies with Japanese iris, exotic orchids and multicolored roses.
The matron of honor was Tysha Barclay of Alvord. Bridesmaids were Callie Watts of Alvord, Nicki Richey of Bowie and Scarlett Barclay of Alvord. The flower girl was Haydn Parker, daughter of Cody and Jammie Parker of Runaway Bay and niece of the groom.
The best man was Kyle Parker of Bridgeport, son of the groom. Groomsmen were Shawn Parker of Alvord, brother of the groom, Cody Parker of Runaway Bay, brother of the groom and Danny Watts of Decatur. The ring bearers were Rhett Barclay, son of James and Lisa Barclay of Alvord and Karson Parker, son of the bride and groom. The ushers were Lestat Proctor of Alvord and Ross Houston of Alvord.
A reception followed at The Club at Runaway Bay.
The bride is a graduate of Alvord High School and is currently employed part-time with Wise Regional Health System. The groom is a graduate of Alvord High School and is currently employed with Devon Energy.
Following a wedding trip to San Antonio, the couple resides in Alvord.

The Rev. Brian Hawkins of Copperas Cove officiated the double ring ceremony.
Escorted by her brother, Roger Gervers of Mesquite, the bride wore a summer dress.
The matron of honor was Loree Shaw of Wylie.
The best man was Craig Pennartz, brother of the groom, of Decatur. The ushers were Bryan Pennartz of Little Rock, Ark., and Christopher Pennartz of Decatur, both brothers of the groom.
The ringbearer was Tanner Garfat, nephew of the bride, son of Charla Gervers and Kenneth Garfat of Plano.

The bride attended Sunnyvale School for K-8 and North Mesquite and Poteet High Schools. She graduated from the University of North Texas and is currently employed as a loan officer for Texas Residential Mortgage.

Shelli Dawn Watson, daughter of Bob and Linda Tear of Mason, will marry Craig Ryan Perkins of Rhome, son of Calvin and Alice Perkins of Rhome, August 17, 2002, in Mason. Ray Tear will officiate.
The bride-elect is employed by Wichita Home Health.
The prospective groom is employed by Deca Construction.

Perkins, Millard - Millard and Betty Perkins
Fifty-third wedding anniversary Aug. 13, 2002
Millard and Betty Perkins are celebrating their fifty-third wedding anniversary with family and friends. They were married Aug. 13, 1949, in Fort Worth. They have lived in Boyd for 45 years. They have three children, Clifford Perkins, Gwenndolyn Oliver and Roderick Perkins and one granddaughter, Chelsea Oliver.
Perkins is retired from Lockheed Martin. The couple enjoy their farm in Boyd and spending time with friends at Anglers Club on Eagle Mountain Lake.

Bob and Sandi French of Las Vegas, Nev. announce the engagement of their daughter, Stefanie Michelle French, to John Michael Peterson of Emporia, Kan. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Myrle and Leslie French and Veda Sherman of Decatur and a graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. Her fiancé, son of Jim and Jennifer Peterson of Emporia is a candidate for May graduation at Kansas State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. The couple will marry June 14 at Emerald Gardens in Las Vegas.

Stefanie Michelle French and John Michael Peterson were married at Emerald Gardens in Las Vegas, Nev., with the Reverend Peter Billiteri officiating the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Colonel and Mrs. Robert L. French, USAF (Ret.), of Las Vegas She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie French and Veda Sherman, all of Decatur.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Peterson of Emporia, Kan. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Osborne and Mrs. John Peterson, all of Clearwater, Kan.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin strapless princess silhouette gown. The bodice, hem and train were embroidered with pearls, bugle beads and iridescent sequins. The removable cathedral train and separate stole also had matching beading. The bride wore a three-tiered cathedral veil of soutache, also with matching beading. The silver tiara headpiece was adorned with pearl and sequins. She carried a cascading bouquet of pale pink roses, orchids and pearl-studded stephanotis.
Maid of honor was Renee Hunt of Poquoson, Va. Also attending the bride were Ginger Aldridge of Poquoson, Va., Lauren Mathews of Atlanta, Ga., Chelsea Sherman, cousin of the bride, of Sanger and McKynzee Sherman, cousin of the bride, of Alvord.
The honor attendants wore black iridescent taffeta two-piece gowns featuring spaghetti straps with a square neckline and a floor-length A-line skirt. They carried bouquets of pale pink roses and pearl-studded stephanotis.
The flower girls were the groom’s nieces, Haleigh and Maren Peterson, daughters of Jim Peterson of Osage, Kan. They wore white spaghetti straps corset bodice gowns with tulle skirt. Their flower baskets were antique silver compotes.
The guest book attendant was Kristi French, the bride’s cousin, of Decatur. Program attendant was Natalie Rouse of Dodge City, Kan. Wedding gift attendant was Amanda Peterson, sister-in-law of the groom, of Waterloo, Iowa. Honorary attendants were Stephen and Tricia French, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, of Plano.

The appliqués trailed down and around the hem of the full skirt. The long sweeping train tied into a French bustle for the reception. The chapel length veil featured a band of small flowers, seed pearls and sequins.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a satin dress featuring a beaded bodice with straps accented with bows. The skirt flowed into a long train. Satin slippers and a beaded hat with veil and blusher completed the bride’s attire. She carried a dozen Alshmere gold roses with baby’s breath.

Wayne and Jean Watts of Paradise celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at the home of Pete and Ginny Peleberg Saturday, Dec. 14.
Watts married the former Jean Copas in Clovis, N.M., Dec. 21, 1952. They have a daughter, Beverly Lawrence of Bridgeport, and one grandchild, Sandy Robins of Plano.
Wayne retired as a tech sergeant after serving 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He is a former commander of the American Legion and is a member of the VFW. He flew for Air America and was a partner in Wise Flying Service from 1988 until 1999. He currently owns and operates Wayne’s Aircraft Service at the Decatur Airport.
Jean worked with family services while Wayne was in the military. She is a former vice president for the American Legion Auxiliary. She is also a former Decatur Airport manager. She retired from Wise Flying Service and is currently employed by PVP Building Systems.

M.E. “Doc” and Beth Weiss celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary July 12. Weiss and the former Beth Granner married in Charles City, Iowa on July 12, 1947. He was employed as a district sales manager by Salsbury Laboratories.
The couple later relocated to Haltom City and in 1967, Weiss became partner in Wooten-Weiss Oldsmobile, Buick and Pontiac automobile dealership in Decatur. In 1969, the couple purchased Five Points Liquor Store in Saginaw which they operated until their retirement in 1997.
The couple have a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Carolyn Weiss of Plano and two grandchildren and a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Jim Peek of Rhome and two grandchildren. A second son, Brian, died in 1989.

The bride wore a white gown. The bodice was covered with pearls and beads, the full skirt featured lace insets with pearls at the hemline and continued around the chapel-length train. The finger-tip veil featured a pearl and rhinestone tiara. She carried a cascading bouquet of fresh lavender roses atop a white Bible.
Matron of Honor was Tamara Neighbors Blythe of Gainesville, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Valorie Spragg of Gainesville, Lisa York of Valley View and Kell yWhited of Denton, sister-in-law of the groom. They wore a black taffeta two-piece ensemble. The strapless bodice featured a mock sarong drape accented with rhinestone buttons and floor-length full skirts. They carried fresh long-stemmed lavender roses tied with silver ribbon.
Best man was Christopher Whited of Denton, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Dean Champion of Burns City, Chris Marmaduke of Valley View and Andrew Neighbors of Valley View, brother of the bride.
The flower girl was Elayna Blythe of Gainesville, niece of the bride. She wore a white floor-length dress with a sleeveless bodice covered with pearls and ribbon.
The ring bearer was Lane York of Valley View. He carried a satin diamond shaped pillow with pearl and ribbon trim created by the bride’s grandmother, Louise Gillum.

The church featured a candle arch, flanked by two heart-shaped votive candleabra and two candleabra trees. Ficus trees and ivy plants were trimmed in lavender and silver bows. Fresh lavender colored flowers with baby’s breath and greenery accented the candleabras. The unity candle was created by Mary Belle Sims and featured the couple’s wedding invitation.
Reception hostesses were Linda Schafer and Susan Morrison, aunts of the bride, Cindy White and Vonnie Crockett. Reception assistants were the ladies of Harvey Street Baptist Church.
The bride’s table featured a four-tier cake atop a fountain, baked and decorated by the bride’s mother. The groom’s table featured four cakes resembling dominoes, baked and decorated by Ovella Baldwin.
A pictoral collage set to music included “Butterfly Kisses” sung by Jerry Neighbors, the bride’s father; “Mother’s Song” sung by Peggy Whited, the groom’s mother and “I Could Not Ask For More” sung by Tamara Blythe, the bride’s sister.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white spaghetti strap ball gown designed by Nancy Issler. It was made of imported silk satin and had a dropped waist. The box-pleated skirt flowed into a chapel-length train. Floral embroidered organza enhanced with silver thread accented a bustle, formed a band at the hem of the gown and a band further embellished with crystal and silver beads at the bodice. The back of the bodice featured tiny satin covered buttons. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink tulips and viburnum.
The maid of honor was Ryan Garrison, sister of the bride, of Decatur who wore a strapless plaid dress by Dessy. Bridesmatron was Rachel Flake of Alvord and bridesmaids were Stephanie Buckler of Decatur, Jessica Goodwyn of Decatur, Whitney Brown of Decatur and Brandi Wicker, sister of the groom, of Hurst. Fiftieth wedding anniversary June 1, 2002
Dan and Mary C. Wilkins of Chico celebrated their fiftieth anniversary June 1, 2002. Dan and Mary were married June 1, 1952, at the Redbud Baptist Church in the Redbud community north of Chico.
They have four children, Alice Garcia and husband Peter of Austin; Dan Wilkins Jr. and wife Donna of Austin; Beverly Johnson and husband Greg of Shawnee, Kan.; and Stacy Wilkins of Austin. They have 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Dan is a member of the Bowie Masonic Lodge 578 and OES Bowie.
Mary is a member of the Chico OES, and they are both Baptists.
Dan retired in 1986 as a terminal manager and agent for Morgan Express Agency in Fort Worth, and Mary retired in 1994 from the office of Park Haven in Bridgeport.
The couple was to be honored with a family celebration hosted by their children later this month in Austin.

Tommy and Virginia Williams of Decatur celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Nov. 1, 2001, with a dinner, hosted by their children, at Western Sizzlin in Decatur.
Williams and the former Virginia Starnes were married Oct. 29, 1951, at Corinth Baptist Church in Decatur.
They have three children, Randy and Pam Williams of Bridgeport and Shrea and Donald Chapman and Carey Williams, all of Decatur. They have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is retired from Mrs. Baird’s and owns and operates Tom’s Pool Service in Decatur.
She is a housewife.
They are both members of the First Baptist Church in Decatur.

The bride is the daughter of Jay and Marla Davidson of Decatur. The groom is the son of Terry and Patricia Wood of Decatur and Jane Rose of Colleyville.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin, strapless gown with an English net overlay that featured imported lace appliques, accented by sequins, seed pearls and crystals. She wore a long-sleeved English net and lace bolero over the gown, and the detachable, satin, chapel-length train with lace appliques finished in a scalloped lace border.
The triple-layer cathedral-length veil of imported illusion sparkled with crystals and fell from a tiara of silver, crystal and pearls.
The bride’s free-form bouquet was designed with white lilies, roses, hydrangeas and cala lilies.
The bride’s matron of honor was Mandy Welch of San Antonio and her maid of honor was Ashlee Davidson, sister of the bride, of Lubbock. Bridesmatrons were Paige Winder of Decatur, Lynette Erwin of Krum, Amy Smith of Waco, Amy Frieirmuth of San Antonio, Tina Joslin of Trophy Club and Lesli Higginbotham of Houston. The bridal party wore scarlet satin strapless gowns and carried bouquets of bright flowers tied in satin ribbon.

Flower girl was Emily Boyd, daughter of Derrick and Cheri Boyd of Decatur and the ringbearer was Erik Elder, son of Jeff and Kasi Elder of Decatur.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Airheart of Edna. She is the granddaughter of Rosemary Airheart and the late Burton Airheart of San Antonio and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Hayes of Booneville, Ark.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wood of Bridgeport. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Wood of Bridgeport and Kornelia Waninger and the late Anton Waninger of Bernstein, Austria.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of pale blue satin. The gown featured a strapless bodice embellished with intricate silver and white embroidery and Swarovski crystals. The full skirt parted in front to reveal an underskirt lavishly decorated with flourishes of embroidery and crystals, which also circled the hem and adorned the chapel-length train. She wore a tiara of crystals and pearls.
She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, ranunculus and orchids hand tied with silk ribbon.
The bride’s honor attendants were Thomas Huggins Dees of Chicago, Ill., and Nels Highberg of Columbus, Ohio. Bridesmaids were Rachel Foyt of Los Angeles, Calif, Jolinda Ramsey of San Antonio and Annabelle Rosa of Corpus Christi.
Best man was Brad Caldwell of Austin. Also attending the groom was Casey Luckett of Mesquite. Groomsmen were Derek Worlow of Bridgeport, T.J. Weatherly of Ennis, cousin of the groom and Spencer Airheart of Edna, brother of the bride.
The bridesmaids and the groom’s female attendant wore two-piece gowns of navy blue iridescent taffeta. Each chose a different style of top paired with a floor-length skirt and carried a hand tied bouquet of pink, fuchsia and coral roses and ranunculus.
Music was provided by harpist Laura Witt. Katrina Baecht of Houston read an excerpt from the Walt Whitman poem “Song of the Open Road.”
A reception followed the ceremony with music provided by the Jazzright jazz quartet.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Cavatore Italian Restaurant in Houston.
The bride is a 1988 graduate of Edna High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Texas A&M University in 1992 and a master of arts degree in English from A&M in 1997. She is an an instructional designer with Hewitt Associates LLC in the Woodlands and performs with an improvisational comedy troupe, Halley’s Comic, in Houston.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science in Denton and a 1999 graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in agricultural engineering with an emphasis on environmental and natural resources. He is an environmental engineer with Sage Environmental Consulting in Houston.
Following a wedding trip to Costa Rica, the couple reside in Houston.
