Marriage vows exchanged Sept. 24, 2006
Mie Onuma of Yokuska, Japan, and Ty Christopher Anderson were married Sept. 24, 2006, at Waialae Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii, in a double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Aeiji and Yoko Onuma of Japan.
The groom is the son of Tim and Kathy Anderson of Nocona.
The groom is a 1995 graduate of Alvord High School. He is currently stationed in Atsugi, Japan, at the Naval Air Station as LPO of the branch medical clinic.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the top of Wikiki.
The couple reside in Atsugi, Japan.

Marriage vows exchanged July 14, 2005
Shenna Maria Chapman and Jeremy Michael Aucoin were married July 14, 2005, at Ashton Gardens in Houston. Scott Denton of Bear Creek Baptist Church officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Robert Chapman of Paradise and Nelda Mundy of Georgetown, Colo.
The groom is the son of Bernie and Trudy Aucoin of Houston.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless white satin gown with hand-sewn beading on the bodice and train. She carried plum and yellow Calla lilies with Orange Unique roses.
Maid of honor was Brianne Spidle of Paradise, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Chrisse Richey of Paradise, Sarah Smith of Grapevine, and Lauren McReynolds of Lubbock. They wore plum halter-top A-line gowns with rhinestone accents at the waist.
A reception followed the ceremony at Ashton Gardens.
The bride is a graduate of Paradise High School and Texas Tech University where she earned a bachelor of human science degree in early childhood education. She is a fourth grade teacher at Birkes Elementary School in the Cypress Fairbanks school district. The groom is a graduate of Cy-Falls High School in Houston and Texas Tech University where he earned a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing. He is employed by Beazer Homes.

The bride is the daughter of W. Mark and Kathy Bradshaw of Brownwood.
The groom is the son of Ronnie and Vickie Baucom of New Orleans and the grandson of Roy Baucom of Bridgeport and Jim and Jessie Holman of Boyd.
The bride was escorted by her father. Her maid of honor was Claire Cook of Lorena, and her bridesmaids were Rebecca Ellis of Brownwood, Emily Leestma of Clear Lake, Amanda Cox of Plano, Kristen Partian of Longview, Erin Lightsey of Corpus Christi and Meredith Nichols of Houston.
Best man was Brad Holmes of Rockville, Md., and groomsmen were Travis Baucom and Taylor Bradshaw, both of College Station, Brett Love of Stillwater, Okla., Jay Whisnand of San Angelo, Colby Brownlee of San Antonio, and Alan Yarbrough of Plainview.
Music was provided by organist Allen Reed and pianist Ann Slaymaker, both of Brownwood. Alan Yarbrough sang “Be Thou My Vision,” and Jillian Carpenter and David Smith performed “How Beautiful.”
A reception followed at The Depot.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Brownwood High School and a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M. She is attending the University of Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Andrews High School and a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M. He is attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.

Marriage vows exchanged May 13, 2006
Ashlee Dawn Davidson and Braxton James Britting, both of Fort Worth, were married May 13, 2006, in the Mission Plaza at the Gaylord Texas Resort in Grapevine. Jack Gatewood, minister of education at the First Baptist Church of Keller, officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jay and Marla Davidson of Decatur.
The groom is the son of Tom Britting of Abilene and Dorothy Britting of Amarillo.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a taffeta ballgown with beaded pick-up points. The asymmetrical cuffed bodice featured a spray of crystals and beads and the corseted back swept into a chapel-length train. The chapel-length veil was edged with satin ribbon and adorned with crystals. She carried a teardrop cascade of white peonies, hydrangea and roses with blush pink roses and sage green hydrangea that were accented with rhinestones.
Matron of honor was Amber Wood of North Richland Hills, sister of the bride. Bridesmatrons were Kimberly Waugh, Amber Terrell, Jennifer Herlevic and Sunny Espanet, sister of the groom, all of Fort Worth.
Honor attendants wore strapless tea-length gowns in black organza with a satin band accent. They carried bouquets of pink peonies, hydrangea and roses with green berries and sage hydrangea.
Flower girl was Emerson Ramsey Espanet of Fort Worth, niece of the groom, daughter of Nicholas and Sunny Espanet of Fort Worth.
Ringbearer was Landry Kenton Wood of North Richland Hills, nephew of the bride, son of Terry and Amber Wood of North Richland Hills.
Best man was Jason Edwards of Fort Worth, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Chet Fowler of Houston, Aly Sergie and Matt Killebrew, both of Dallas, and Nicholas Espanet of Fort Worth.
Ushers were Terry Wood of North Richland Hills, Vincent Porter of Keller, Pen Brantley of Houston and Steve Kuhns of Austin. Guest book attendants were Kristi Stevens of Frisco, Crystal Righton of Roanoke, Brandy Mayfield of Decatur, Brinda Patel of Dallas and Jennifer Robertson of Malakoff.
Pianist was John G. Elliott of Decatur and trumpet soloist was David Duggan of Fort Worth.
A reception hosted by the bride’s parents followed the ceremony in the Grapevine Ballroom at the Gaylord Texan Resort.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Decatur High School and earned a master’s degree in physical therapy from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2004. The bride is the daughter of Frank and Jan Hailey of Justin. The groom is the son of Jack and Claudia Cannon of Decatur.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an Elizabethan princess cut dress made of silk and satin. She also wore her mother’s wedding veil, fashioned of tooling and silk flowers.
She carried a bouquet of white roses and bluebonnets.
Maid of honor was Crystal Hailey of Lewisville. Bridesmaids were Mandi and Amy Cannon of Decatur and Melissa Spendlove of Katy.
The bridesmaids wore white skirts and baby blue blouses.
Best man was Scott Matthew Cannon of Decatur, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Steve Spendlove of Katy, Eric Cannon of Decatur and Adam Hailey of Lewisville.
Violin music was provided by Jocylyn Hailey.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Denton.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Northwest High School. She is in the nursing program at North Central Texas College and is employed as a certified nursing assistant.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Decatur High School. He is a partner in an oil well drilling and supply company.
Following a wedding trip through New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Washington and California, the couple reside in Duncan, Okla.

The groom is the son of Javier and Bertha Cardenas of Decatur. He is the grandson of Francisco and Marie De La Luz Cardenas and Simon and Margarita Torres, all of Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless floor-length satin A-line gown with crystal beads adorning the bodice. The gown featured a chapel-length train. Her headpiece was a crystal tiara with a sheer blusher.
Maid of honor was Lisa Beck of Lubbock. Bridesmaids were Cynthia Alvarez of Decatur, Denisse Deleon of Fort Worth, both sisters of the groom, Jenny Chenoweth of College Station and Rachel Sturgeon of Dallas.
Best man was Simon Cardenas of Decatur, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Kristo Cardenas of Decatur, brother of the groom, Nathan Holt of Abilene, brother of the bride, Daniel Rivas and Gilberto Rodriguez, both of Decatur. Ushers were Aaron Ortiz and Justin Tompkins, cousins of the bride, both of Decatur.
Flower girl was Leslie Venegas of Decatur, cousin of the groom, daughter of Jorge and Maricela Venagas. Ring bearer was Rigo Alvarez of Decatur, nephew of the groom, son of Rigo and Cynthia Alvarez. Guest book attendant was Kortney Tompkins of Decatur, cousin of the bride.

A dinner and dance reception followed at the Decatur Civic Center.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Decatur High School. She plans to graduate from Texas Woman’s University in May with a bachelor of science degree in communication sciences and disorders. She is employed by Wise Regional Health System in Decatur.

Ashlee Dené Hale and Stephen McKinley Carter were married Saturday, June 24, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Alvord. The Rev. Bill Cleveland officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Eddie and Cheryl Hale of Alvord. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Cookie Neighbors of Alvord and Frances Hale of Alvord.
The groom is the son of Bill and Wanda King of Granbury.
The bride wore a white A-line chapel-length strapless duponi silk dress embellished with beading at the waist and top of the bodice. Her chapel-length veil was embellished with rhinestones.
She carried a clutch-style bouquet of all white and green flowers which consisted of freesia, vendela roses, Casablanca lilies, stephanotis, ranunculus chartreuse viburnum and glass bead sprays with ribbon trailing that had three blooms.
The bride’s maid of honor was Candace Goggans, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Julie Resler, cousin of the bride, Ryan Carter, sister of the groom, Courtney McCollough and Kate Dubberly.
Best man was Dakon Doggett. Groomsmen were Zac Hale, brother of the bride, Danny Neighbors, uncle of the bride, and Ron Sanderson and Scott Broussard.
Flower girls were Sidney Carter, daughter of the groom, and Nicole Neighbors, cousin of the bride. Ring bearers were Jon Christian Maitland and Crese Redman, cousins of the bride.
Candle lighters were Natalie and Makayla Neighbors and Taylor Hale, all cousins of the bride. Guest book attendant was Reilly Hale, cousin of the bride.
Music was provided by pianist DeAnn Nivens. Vocalists were Randy and Sharon Neighbors, aunt and uncle of the bride. Sound technician was Pat Horner.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Decatur Civic Center.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Alvord High School and a 2005 graduate of North Central Texas College in Gainesville. She is currently employed at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth and is a registered nurse in the neonatal unit.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Springtown High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in education. He is currently employed in the Paradise school district where he teaches and coaches.
Following a wedding cruise, the couple reside in Paradise.

Marriage vows exchanged Oct. 16, 2006
Chelsea Estelle Robinson and Aaron Enrique Castillo were married Oct. 16, 2006, at the Southern Oaks Mansion in Gatesville. The couple were married by proxy on Feb. 17, 2005.
The bride is the daughter of Les and Beverly Jane Baker-Robinson of Killen. She is the granddaughter of Elston and Edith Baker, Jack and Sue Robinson, all of Chico, and Wilma Jean Robinson of Tucson, Ariz.
The groom is the son of Suani Luna of Killeen. He is the grandson of Felix and Rose Morales of Guatemala.
The bride wore a pastel pink gown with an Austrian beaded bodice and cascading pink tulle and the garter worn by her mother at her wedding in 1971. She also wore a pink diamond necklace and earrings that were provided by her uncle, Stan Baker, of Chico.
A reception was held following the ceremony in which a special absentee setting was created in honor of the soldiers of the SPC unit who were killed in action in Iraq.
The groom is a specialist with the SPC unit and has returned from his first tour of duty in Iraq where he received numerous ribbons and medals for his valor during Operation Iraq Freedom.
During her husband’s deployment, the bride remained at Fort Campbell Tenn. and attended Austin Peay State University.

William Cate and the former Melba Stowe were married April 13, 1946, at Birdville Church of Christ.
They have three children, Ed Cate and wife, Cheryl, Saretta Rowland and husband, Gerald and Garry Cate and wife, Betty; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
William retired from the City of Fort Worth in 1988.
Melba retired from banking in 1999.

They have three children, Frank Clark of Cottondale, Jimmy Clark of Simms and the late Jerry Clark; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
J.C. retired from the Red River Army Depot and Betty retired from K-Mart. They are both active members of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd.

The bride is the daughter of James and Janis Alling of Decatur.
The groom is the son of Pamela Congdon of Colorado Springs, Colo., and the late Ardsley Pihl Congdon Sr. He is the grandson of Vernon and Carol Krapf of Beach Park, Ill.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown. Its bodice had a scoop neckline and spaghetti straps adorned with bugle beads and pearls. Buttons adorned a back zipper. The A-line skirt ended in a chapel train. She also wore a blue garter and carried a six-penny coin that her mother used in her wedding in 1961. She carried a handkerchief used by her mother-in-law in her wedding in 1964.
Matron of honor was Linda Long of Possum Kingdom Lake. Bridesmaids were Natalie Alling of Decatur, sister-in-law of the bride, Anjanette Taylor of Colorado Springs, sister of the groom, and Melinda Finley Kunkel of Arlington, Lori Finley Johnston of Waco, and Marsha Finley Hamilton of Abilene, all cousins of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Hannah Louise Alling and Sarah Elizabeth Alling, both of Decatur and nieces of the bride.
Ringbearer was Caleb Dewain Johnston of Waco, cousin of the bride.
Best man was Ardsley Pihl Congdon III, son of the groom. Groomsmen were Dr. Jefferson Bennett Alling of Decatur, brother of the bride, Steve Haskell of Zion, Ill., cousin of the groom, Keith Christie of Irving, and James Nathan Alling and Jonathan Bennett Alling, both of Decatur and nephews of the bride.

They have two children, John Stephen Dean and wife, Belynda, of Carrollton, and Paul William Dean and wife, Kelly, of Palatine, Ill.; five grandchildren, James D. Dean, Bailey and Reagan Dean, and Shea and Caitlyn Dean.
Jim became an ordained minister in 1958 and serves Seven Hills United Methodist Church in Rhome. He has been active in Boy Scouts of America since 1941, first as a scout and then as a leader, earning the Silver Beaver Award. He is Cub Master of Pack 154 at the church. He is active in the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and is a past member of Lions and Rotary clubs.
Linda, a retired administrative assistant, has sung soprano in church choirs, community choruses and the Dallas Symphony Chorus.

She wore a pearl necklace given to her by her late grandmother, Hazle Swindle, and a ring that belonged to her great-grandmother, Ada Reece, also worn by her mother in her wedding. She carried a bouquet of silk pink and white roses with greenery, pearls and baby’s breath laid on a Bible belonging to her father and covered with white lace, pearls, and white, blue and green roses.
Matron of honor was Lorenda Rackley of Boyd, cousin of the bride. Maid of honor was Angela Brown of Arlington. The honor attendants wore tea-length pink chiffon dresses with empire waists and carried bouquets of pink roses, greenery and baby’s breath.
Flower girl was Ashleigh Rackley of Boyd, cousin of the bride, daughter of Chad and Lorenda Rackley. Candlelighters were Callie Fuller of Bridgeport, who wore a hunter green velvet and lace dress, and Schuyler Ersch of Alvord, brother of the bride.

Marriage vows exchanged July 8, 2006
Natalie Ann Tippen of Krum and Jim Bob Fritz of Ponder were married July 8, 2006, at Lantana Lodge on Lake Ray Roberts in Pilot Point. The Rev. David McLerran, pastor of Christian Gathering Church in Valley View, officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Lee Jack and Donna Tippen of Krum.
The groom is the son of Julie Alred of Valley View and Bobby and Fran Fritz of Ponder.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a designer taffeta gown with beaded pick-up points. The drop waist, fitted bodice and corseted back swept into a chapel length train that was edged and adorned with crystals and beads.
She carried a bouquet of hand-tied orange gerbera daisies and orange calla lilies.
Matron of honor was Summer Tippen of Krum, sister-in-law of the bride. Maid of honor was Morgan Wiebe of Stephenville. Bridesmaids were Lyndsie Eggenberg of Gainesville, and Kathrine Croxton and Amy Cahoone, both of Krum. Madie Hagen of Denton was a junior bridesmaid.
Flower girls were Rami Fritz of Alvord, niece of the groom, and Hannah Weaver of Krum, niece of the groom.
Best man was Jerami Fritz of Alvord, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were R.B. Shield of Fort Worth, John Jarrell of McKinney, Cody Cory of Gainesville and Stephen Nelson of Justin.
Ringbearers were Keaton Tippen, nephew of the bride, and Hayden Weaver, nephew of the groom, both of Krum.
Ushers were Jack Jones, cousin of the bride, of Houston, Ben and Clint Crowell, brothers of the groom, both of Ponder, Bubba Parker of St. Jo and Joe Bob Roberts of Era.
Guest book attendants were Lynsey Jones of Houston and Breanne Burris of Brownfield, both cousins of the bride.
Music was provided by pianist Mike Porter of Dickens and soloists Joseph and Katie Weaver of Krum and Kristie McLerran and Clint Sturgeon, both of Gainesville.
A reception given by the bride’s parents followed the ceremony at the Lantana Lodge. Members of the houseparty were Melissa Barnes and Melissa Burgess, both of Gainesville, Patty Salmon of Valley View and Diane Skiff of Southmayd.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Krum High School. She attends Weatherford College and is employed at Tippen Fabrication in Boyd.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Ponder High School. He attends Weatherford College and is self-employed, breaking and training horses.
Following a wedding trip to Cozumel, the couple lives in Krum.

Bobby Jack Gardner and the former Doris Howell were married Jan. 7, 1956, in Gainesville.
Bobby Jack is an auto body technician. Doris is a housewife.
They have four children, Sandra Hillary of Decatur, Brenda Howell of Bridgeport, Billy Gardner of Dallas and Bobbie Ruth Gonzales of Moultrie, Ga., and the late Ricky Gardner and Kimberly Ann Gardner; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Springtown High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at Weatherford College and is employed by NAE Electric.
The groom is a 1992 graduate of Bridgeport High School and spent two years at Tarleton College. He is employed by Stallion Oil Field Services.
Following the wedding, the couple took a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, and reside in Springtown.

Fiftieth wedding anniversary Dec. 16, 2006
Paul and Delora Gilbreath celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 16 with a reception at K-Bob’s in Decatur. Their children and spouses will meet and celebrate with them in January in Las Vegas.
They were married Dec. 16, 1956, in Amarillo.
Their children are Jan Latta and husband, Sam, of Austin, Kent Gilbreath of Lubbock and Capt. Terry Gilbreath and wife, Sally, of Thibodaux, La. They have a daughter-in-law, Jennie Gilbreath White and husband, Col. Richard White of Los Angeles, Calif. They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Paul retired from Paul Gilbreath Construction in Crosbyton and Delora is a retired school secretary. They moved to Runaway Bay in 1994.

Coy Don is a retired printer. He and Iris are former presidents of the Fort Worth German Shepherd Dog Club.

The bride is the daughter of Davis and Deloris Martin of Paradise. She is the granddaughter of Melvin and Jannie Meadows of Paradise and George and Maxine Martin of Abilene.
The groom is the son of Ronnie and Pam Hamby of Paradise. He is the grandson of Lee and Glenda Hamby of Paradise and John and Marilyn Redmond of Weatherford.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin, strapless, A-line gown with beaded white embroidery accented with Swarovski crystals and pearls on the bodice, skirt and chapel-length train. The dress also featured a split back with roushing gathered to one side, accented with three satin roses and embellished with beads and pearls. She wore an elbow-length, scalloped edge veil with pearls and Swarovski crystals held by a pearl and crystal headpiece.
She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses, Casablanca lilies, stephanotis and English ivy.
Maid of honor was Jennifer Richter of San Antonio. Bridesmaids were Hayley Foster of Lubbock, cousin of the bride, Katie Blessing of Paradise and Brandi Martin of Denton, cousin of the bride.
The attendants wore apple red strapless, satin A-line gowns with a train that gathered from the waist. They carried three red roses with greenery and hypernicum berries.
Flowergirl was Danae Meadows of Paradise, cousin of the bride.
Best man was Brad Martin of San Antonio, brother of the bride. Groomsmen were Brett Hamby of Lubbock and Ronnie and Rusty Hamby, both of Fort Worth, all brothers of the groom.
Ringbearers were Trevor Hamby and Reese Hamby, nephews of the groom, both of Fort Worth.
Ushers were Alex Hamby of Paradise, brother of the groom, Jared Trotter of Lubbock, cousin of the groom, Jerod Foster of Lubbock, cousin of the bride, and Seth Foster of Paradise, cousin of the bride.

A reception followed the ceremony in the church family room.

Following a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple reside in Roanoke.

Their children are Karen Slimp and her husband, Rick, and Kevin Haney and his wife, Julie.
They have six grandchildren, Jeremy, Eric and Kayla Slimp and Blake, Morgan and Harrison Haney.
Edwin and Melba are members of the First Baptist Church in Decatur where Edwin serves as a deacon. Edwin is a graduate of Bridgeport High School and is retired from North Texas Plastics where he was a tool and die maker. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany. Melba is a graduate of Decatur High School and is retired from Wise Regional Health System where she was director of personnel and a customer service patient advocate.

B.E. “Boots” and Allene Henry of Decatur will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Decatur Civic Center.
Boots Henry of Crowell and Allene Houk of Quanah were married Jan. 18, 1941, in Quanah.
Boots worked as a bricklayer and sharecropper early in their marriage. He was a rancher and carpenter in Decatur. In 1994, he was named citizen of the year by the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association.
Allene has sold beauty products and has been a sales clerk, including many years at Ben Franklin, Mode-o-Day and Lorch Dress Shop in Decatur.
Since they retired, the couple gardens and sells their produce at the farmer’s market in Decatur. They are both members of the Church of Christ in Decatur.
The couple has four children, Marvin Henry of Archer City, Roy Henry of Livingston, Melvin Henry of Longview and Betty Campbell of Carrollton; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

They have three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
George works for General Motors. Both George and Ramona are members of the Newark Church of Christ.

Their children are Mark Knowles and wife, Susan, of Van Alstyne and Beth Craig of Bedford. They have three grandchildren.
Special guests at the reception were David Whitcher, Lu Anne’s brother, and Zack Rochette, grand nephew, of Grayling, Mich.
Phil retired from US Airways as a pilot and Lu Anne retired from being music minister at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst. The couple are both members of Peace Lutheran.

Gordon and Peggy Lovell of Decatur will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary July 2, 2006, with a family celebration at their home.
The Lovell’s met while attending high school in Lubbock. They later married while both were students at Texas Tech University.
Gordon served in the U.S. Air Corp during World War II. They owned and operated Lovell Plumbing with son Gary until retiring in 1995.
The couple has two sons, Don Lovell and wife, Lynn, of Colorado Spring, Colo., and Gary Lovell and wife, Janice, of Decatur; two granddaughters, Lyann Ware and husband, Jay, and Robyn Clay and husband, Todd, of Georgetown; and a grandson.
