The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Bridgeport High School. She is a Christian studies major at Howard Payne University.
The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Waldrip High School in Houston. He is a Christian studies and history major at Howard Payne and a Douglas McArthur Academy of Freedom scholar.

Kacie Jo Emmert and David Lee Mangus Jr., both of Decatur, were married May 27, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur. Johnny Irish officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Debbie Emmert of Bridgeport
The groom is the son of David and Patricia Mangus of Lexington, Okla., and Marie Mayfield of Norman, Okla.
Matron of honor was Melissa Duvall and maid of honor was Samantha Grooms, both of Denton. Flower girl was Lilly Duvall of Denton, daughter of Ian and Melissa Duvall.
Best man was Garrett Musser of Denton and groomsman was Kevin Garling of Norman. Ushers were Charles Emmert of Bridgeport, brother of the bride, and Shae Martin of Bridgeport.
Guest book attendant was Jodi Smith of Bridgeport.
A reception was held at Sunshine Celebrations in Paradise.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Bridgeport High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of North Texas where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business marketing. She is employed by Wells Fargo Bank.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Decatur High School. He is employed by Lowe’s.
Following a honeymoon trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple lives in Decatur.

Jenna Brooke Stone of Paradise and Stanton Dale Marwitz of Stephenville were married July 8, 2006, at A&M Gardens in Azle. Don Kingman officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Tammie Stone of Paradise.
The groom is the son of Danny and Cindy Marwitz of Comanche.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white strapless corset gown embellished with beads. The skirt featured a scalloped edge. Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil with a beaded veil clip. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of hydrangea and stock that featured a rhinestone cross broach on the ribbon-wrapped stems.
Maid of honor was Jaci Stone of Paradise, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Nicole Lewis and Kylie Gentry, both of Paradise, and Mandy Stone of Granbury.
Honor attendants wore knee-length orange halter dresses. They carried kissing balls of mixed daisies in pink, orange and yellow.
Flower girl was Emily Tindol of Comanche, daughter of Mike and Nancy Tindol, cousin of the groom. Ringbearer was Dalton Novotny of Grapevine, son of David and Kari Novotny, cousin of the bride.
Best man was Ryan Marwitz of Comanche, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jacob Marwitz of Comanche, brother of the groom, Clint Davidson of Priddy, and Jared Stone of Paradise, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Michael Kunkel of Priddy, Brady Tyson and Johnathan Tindol, both of Comanche, and Brent Grelle of Priddy.
Guest book attendants were Colton and Jordan Novotny, both of Grapevine.
A reception followed the ceremony at A&M Gardens. Servers were Tiffany Robertson, Lindsey Webb, Penny Winfrey, Stacey Stark and Kelcee Ribble.
The bride is a graduate of Paradise High School and is a junior at Tarleton State University.
The groom is a graduate of Priddy High School and Tarleton State University. He is employed as a teacher and a coach at Stephenville High School.
Following a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas, the couple live in Stephenville.

Fiftieth wedding anniversary March 30, 2006
David and Alma Maxey celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary March 26 at the Decatur Civic Center.
They were married March 30, 1956, at Fundamental Baptist Church in Decatur by Alma’s brother, Clyde Spann and brother-in-law, Marshall Burk.
David owned Wise County Equipment for many years and Alma helped with the business. She is a homemaker.
Their children are Phyllis Elenbury, Becky Swan and Joy Addington.
Their eight grandchildren are Kagen, Keili and Kane Elenburg, Kasey and Kori Swan, David Paul Colby and Merrick Addington. They have two great-grandchildren, Davy Addington and Kasey Ray Swan.

Danny and Shirley McWhirter of Decatur celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 11, 2006, with a reception hosted by their family and friends at The Father’s House church.
Danny McWhirter and the former Shirley Popplewell were married Nov. 11, 1956, in Decatur.
The couple has three children, Mary Ellen Hendrix and husband, Larry, of Fort Worth, Elizabeth Ann Gourley of Chico, and Terry Don McWhirter and wife, Allison, of Salem, Ore.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Danny retired from Dallas Aireamotive. Shirley works for US Life and at the day care for the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Danny is a member of the Decatur Masonic Lodge and The Father’s House church. Shirley is a member of the Decatur 8ers and Fit-N-Wise.

Triston Nadine Meador and Thomas Raymond Minihan III, both of Lubbock, were married Dec. 27, 2005, at St. Paul the Apostle Chapel in Horseshoe Bay. The Rev. James P. Bridges officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Lea Ann Meador of Dallas. She is the granddaughter of Joyce Meador of Dallas and Franklin and Charlotte Meador of Decatur.
The groom is the son of Gena and Tommy Minihan of Midland. He is the grandson of Tom and Jeanette Minihan and Eugene and Janice Hall, all of Midland.
Escorted by her mother, the bride wore a strapless floor-length satin A-line gown with apple-red satin trim and lace-up back. The gown featured a chapel-length train. Her headpiece was a crystal tiara with a sheer blusher. She carried a bouquet of red tulips.
Maid of honor was Jourdy Whelan of Dallas. Bridesmaids were Courtney Teasdale and Katie Condry, both of Dallas. Honor attendants wore apple-red satin and georgette A-line halter dresses accented with brooches. They each carried a bouquet of calla lilies.
Best men were Clay Hantz and Daniel Minihan, brother of the groom, both of Midland. Groomsman was Mike Drake of Dallas. They also served as ushers.
Ringbearer was Brady Minihan, brother of the groom.
Soloist was Shannon Minihan of Midland, sister of the groom.
A reception was hosted by the bride’s mother at Quail Point Community Center.
The bride is a graduate of Highland Park High School and is a sophomore at Midland College.
The groom is a graduate of Midland Christian Academy and is also a sophomore at Midland College. He is employed by Circle M Production.
Following a cruise to the Western Caribbean, the couple lives in Midland.

The bride is the daughter of Bill Bowyer of Chico and Mitch and Becky Summars of McKinney.
The groom is the son of Santiago and Maria Monjaraz of Bridgeport.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white one-piece strapless corset back gown with a sweetheart neckline that was sprinkled with pearl accents. The counturier styling of the skirt was embellished with diamond shape pearl motifs. She wore a chapel-length veil and a diamond embellished tiara as a headpiece.
She carried a bouquet of hand-tied pink roses accented by small, white sparkle flowers.
The maid of honor was Stephanie Bowyer, sister of the bride, of Nacogdoches. Bridesmaids were Lori Johnston and Megan Claborn, both of Stephenville, Shanda Sheardown of Chico, and Veronica Monjaraz, sister of the groom, of Bridgeport.
The bridesmaids wore petal pink A-line dresses with draped hip bands and rhinestone pin details. They carried hand-tied pink roses with yellow spider lilies.
Best man was Oscar Monjaraz, brother of the groom, of Bridgeport. Groomsmen were Armando Delgado, cousin of the groom, of Chico, T.J. Zaborniak, Gustavo Patino and Ricardo Rivera, all of Bridgeport.
Flower girls were Bailey Bowyer, niece of the bride and the daughter of Scott and Kim Bowyer, of Nacogdoches and Amaya Garcia, cousin of the groom and the daughter of Roy and Susan Garcia, of Chico.
Ring bearer was Caleb Bennett, nephew of the bride and the son of Kristi and Deroy Bennett, of Decatur.
Ushers and candlelighters were Scott Bowyer, brother of the bride, of Nacogdoches and Rami Herrera of Bridgeport.
Guest book attendant was Ashley Jones of Weatherford, cousin of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception given by the parents of the bride and groom was held at the Decatur Civic Center. Nikki Horner of Alvord entertained.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Chico High School. She is employed at Burlington Northern Santa Fe in Fort Worth.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Bridgeport High School and a 2004 graduate of the Tarrant County College Police Academy. He is employed by the Decatur Police Department.
The couple reside in Decatur.

The bride is the daughter of Cindy and Charles Ray Smith Jr. of Boyd and Jim and Jana Hunt of Fort Worth. She is the granddaughter of Elaine and Milton Andress of Lipan, Shirley and Lynn Hunt of Gilmer, and Pat Smith and Deloris Cooper, both of Boyd.
The groom is the son of Larry and T’Ann Naugle of Aurora. He is the grandson of Judy Howard of Aurora.
The bride wore a one-piece strapless gown. The back featured inverted pleats that fell toward the hemline and was adorned with pearls and crystals. The veil was made by her grandmother, Elaine Andress.
Matron of honor was Angie Brown of Saginaw, aunt of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Bullpit of Hurst, sister of the bride, Katie Naugle of Aurora, sister of the groom, and Heather Culpepper of Boyd.
Best man was Kurt Naugle of Fort Worth, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Rusty Rice of Boyd, Nick Ulch of McKinney and Tommy Patterson of Boyd.
The bride is a graduate of Boyd High School and is attending Tarrant County College. She will continue her studies at the University of North Texas working towards a degree in education.
The groom is a graduate of Northwest High School and will be completing his studies at Arlington Baptist College where he is working toward a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministries.
Following a honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple reside in Aurora.

Donald and Helmi Norris of Paradise will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary March 11, 2006, with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Paradise hosted by their children.
Donald Norris and the former Helmi Loher were married March 10, 1956, in Koblenz, Germany.
They have a son, Wayne Norris of Bridgeport; a daughter, Debra Logan of Bridgeport; and four grandchildren, Amber Norris and Kayla Norris, both of Fort Worth, and Kyle Wooldridge and Chris Wooldridge, both of Bridgeport.
Donald is a retired teacher from the Paradise school district and serves on the board of directors of the Wise Area Relief Mission. Helmi is a homemaker. They are both members of the First Baptist Church of Paradise.

Marvin and Cathy Oates of Decatur celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their son, Scott Oates, April 22, 2006, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 1 in Decatur. They renewed their vows with their pastor, Dan Teed, officiating. Cathy sang, “When I Fall in Love” to her husband.
Marvin Oates and the former Cathy Wren were married March 16, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Alvord.
They have two children, Scott Oates of Haslet and Mark Oates of Decatur and two grandchildren.
Marvin is a farmer and rancher and Cathy is retired. Both are members of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 1 where Marvin is a deacon and Cathy is the organist.

Ivan and Arlayne Orthengren of Decatur celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 12, 2006, with a family dinner and presentation of a memory book, hosted by their children and grandchildren at their home.
Ivan Orthengren and the former Arlayne Monia were married June 16, 1956, in Lincoln, Neb.
They have a daughter, Vicki Howard and husband, Asa, of Amarillo; and two sons, Alan Orthengren and wife, Karen, of Amarillo, and Bruce Orthengren and wife, Joelle, of Delano, Minn.; and four grandsons.
Ivan retired from Burlington Northern Railroad after 42 years. Arlayne is a homemaker.

Live entertainment at the reception was provided by nephew-in-law Darren Law and his band.
Their children are Dennis Penney and wife, Margaret, of Boonsville, Ellen DeGarmo of Boonsville and David Penney and wife, Julia, of Emory.
The couple moved to Boonsville in 1988.
Donald has been active in the community, including being involved with the Boonsville/Balsora Volunteer Fire Department. Virginia is active in the Boonsville Ladies Club. They are members of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport.

She carried a bouquet of red roses with rhinestones.
The maid of honor was Julie Rutledge of Bridgeport. Bridesmaids were Michelle Brundrett, cousin of the bride, of Grand Prairie, Lori Luna, cousin of the bride, of Keller, Luci Pool of Tolar, Adrienne Parcus of College Station and Kayla VanBrunt of Lake Worth.
The bridesmaids wore black taffeta strapless tops with white ribbons and black taffeta A-line tea-length skirts. They carried three long-stem roses.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white sleeveless chiffon full length A-line dress with layers. It had a carved Basque waist and the bodice was covered with bugle beads, seed beads and sequins. For jewelry, she wore a silver finished choker and bracelet that had three rows of clear Austrian crystals that joined to form a central “V.” Her earrings were made of large baguette crystal with a five-row dangle. She also wore a large silk flower in her hair that contained Swavorski crystals.
She carried a bouquet of Karma Corona Dahlias, Karma Bon Bini Dahlias, orange alstroemeria, orange Gerber daisies, peach hypericum and Italian ruscus. The bouquet was wrapped with satin ribbon in latte with pearl beads.
Maids of honor were Dinah and Kara Perez of Decatur, sisters of the bride. They have two children, Jimmy Shelton Jr. of Chico and Johnna Sweet and husband, Mike, of Sanger; five grandchildren, Justin, Matt, Austin, Rebekah and Jackson; and four great-grandchildren, C.J., Hayden, Brock and Marcus.
Jimmy retired from General Electric. Neva retired from Mitchell Energy. They are active members of the Denton Church of Christ where Jimmy serves as an elder.

The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Pam Goodwyn of Decatur.
The groom is the son of Bill and Charlotte Winter of Lindsay and Bobby and Karen Sicking of Myra.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline featuring an asymmetrical front drape and corset back. It was embellished with Swarovski crystals and beads. Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil.
She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and roses accented with pearls.
Maids of honor were Whitney Goodwyn of Lubbock and Claire Goodwyn of Decatur, both sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ryan Brown, Liz Cocanougher and Ashly Berry, all of Decatur, Brennon Sterna of Carrollton and Kate Dutler of New Braunfels.
The bridesmaids wore black strapless taffeta ball gowns with wide sash ties forming long tails. They carried a single white calla lily tied with black ribbon.
Flower girls were Morgan Haney, daughter of Kevin and Julie Haney of Decatur, cousin of the bride, and Gracie and Norah Ruebel, daughters of Jay and Kim Ruebel of Keller, nieces of the groom.
Best men were Justin Sicking of Lindsay and Corey Sicking of Myra, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Nathan Jordan of Lubbock, Brian Sills of San Antonio, Braden Gibson of Dumas, Zach Whitman of Washington D.C. and Andrew McMurry of Amarillo.

She also wore a rhinestone and crystal headband and a white chapel-length veil trimmed with satin.
She carried a bouquet of mini white and burgundy calla lilies.
Maid of honor was Tracey Chambers of Fort Worth. Bridesmaids were Candice Klein of Fredericksburg, Chené Smith of College Station and Miranda McCormick of Euless, cousin of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Maggie McCormick of Weatherford, cousin of the bride.
The bridesmaids wore strapless floor-length gowns in celadon and carried bouquets of mini burgundy calla lilies.

Escorted by her brother, Michael Morris of River Oaks, the bride wore a custom designed ivory chiffon strapless gown with a gathered bodice and tea-length tiered skirt. She wore her paternal grandmother’s diamond tennis bracelet and earrings, and the promise ring given to her mother by her father.
She carried a bouquet of red silk roses, orchids and baby’s breath. The bouquet was accented with black chiffon ribbons. The gloves the bride’s maternal grandmother wore in her wedding were carried with the bouquet.
Matron of honor was Kristin Lummé of Euless. She wore a black halter dress with a tiered knee-length skirt and carried a small bouquet of red silk roses and orchids, tied with a black chiffon ribbon. Bridesmaid was Chloe Verellen, daughter of the bride and groom. She wore an ivory tea-length dress and carried a single red rose tied with an ivory ribbon.
Best man was Eric Neil of Arlington. Groomsmen were Gage Verellen and Garrett Verellen both sons of the groom. They wore black suits with ivory shirts and garnet ties, and single roses on their lapels.

Glen and Virginia Welsh of Decatur celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family reunion at their son’s home in Hilo, Hawaii, in December.
Glen Welsh and the former Virginia Schmidt were married Jan. 15, 1956, in Beatrice, Neb. They met when Glen was stationed in Lincoln, Neb., serving in the U.S. Air Force.
They have three children, Randy Welsh and wife, Jan, of Ogden, Utah, Brian Welsh and wife, Karen, of Hilo, and Lori Blankenship and husband, Mike, of Decatur; and seven grandchildren.
After Glen retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1984, the couple began traveling and have been to all 50 states, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
The couple moved to Decatur in 1999 and are members of the Ascension and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

They were married Nov. 30, 1956, in Fort Worth.
They have lived in Fort Worth, Yuma, Ariz., Nairobi, Kenya, and, for the last 32 years in Boyd.
Their children are Vicki Ross of Boyd, Tamara Allen and husband, John, of Midlothian, Steven Willis and wife, Shelley, of Aledo and Timothy Willis and wife, Angela of Spokane, Wash.
They have 12 grandchildren, Cody, Alexia Rice and husband, Greg, Melody, Hannah, Heidi, Haylee, Steven, Stacey, Michael, Madeline, Ian and Jordan; and one great-grandson, Caleb Rice.
Orville was a contractor and craftsman for more than 50 years.
Beverly retired after 31 years teaching in the Boyd school district. She taught elementary music, reading and English as a second language.
The couple is very active in their church, Fossil Creek Community Church of Fort Worth.
They celebrated with a trip to Madrid, Spain, last year and with a driving tour of several western U.S. states this year.

Kathleen Dunikoski, daughter of Robert and RoseAnn Dunikoski, all of Southlake, will marry Josh Withers, son of the Rev. James and Brenda Withers, all of Aurora, on June 24 at the Aurora Baptist Church.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Austin College in Sherman. She is a teacher and coach at Northwest High School.
The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Dallas Baptist University. He teaches physics and coaches football and baseball at Northwest High School.

Lewis and Irene Wood of Cottondale will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 20, 2006.
Lewis Wood and the former Irene Smith were married on June 20, 1956, in Weatherford.
Their children are Debra Woods and husband, Ernest, and Jackie Taylor and husband, Cliff. They have three grandchildren, Joseph, Clay and Jessica; and one great-grandchild, Emma.
Lewis and Irene have been owners of Cottondale Grocery and Deli for more than 20 years.

Following a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple lives in Fort Worth.

The bride-elect is a student at Texas A&M University and will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in English. She will be pursuing a career in teaching.
The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M. He teaches math and coaches football and basketball at Wichita Falls High School.

Marriage vows exchanged July 1, 2006
Andrea Michelle Fields of College Station and Bennett King Woodruff of Wichita Falls were married July 1, 2006, at Rockin’ River Inn in Center Point. Tom Fields, grandfather of the bride, officiated the ceremony in an outdoor evening, double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Samuel and Maja Fields of Kerrville. She is the granddaughter of Tom and Lucille Fields of Dallas and William Thompson of Kerrville.
The groom is the son of Mason Woodruff and Jo Woodruff of Decatur. He is the grandson of W. B. and Mary Louise Woodruff of Decatur and Barrington and Edith Beutell of Hideway.
Escorted by her father, she wore an antique white lace-overlay gown encrusted with pearls and sequins created by her mother and family friend, Janine Adams. The fitted gown featured an empire bodice and dropped waist reminiscent of the 1920s with lace straps, bias flounce and open back with sweet chapel train. She wore an illusion veil and blusher with soutache braid and pearl and lace appliqué. She carried a bouquet of orange roses and calla lilies and blue and white statice.
Maid of honor was Gloria Fields, the bride’s sister. The honor attendants were Emily Hall of Ingram, Leslie Woodruff of Dallas, sister of the groom, and Nancy Dubinski of San Antonio. Junior bridesmaid was Lauren Baxter, daughter of Ned and Sandy Baxter of College Station.
The bridesmaids wore strapless, satin, cocktail-length, a-line dresses in indigo blue and carried bouquets of orange roses and blue statice.
Best man was James Holt of Argyle. Groomsmen were Jason Sanders of Boston, Mass., Jeff Lankford of Dallas, Brian Rodden of Roanoke, and Matt Wood of Houston.
Ushers were Kirk Fields of Midland and Adam Fields of College Station, brothers of the bride, Chris Woodruff, cousin of the groom, and Jordan Null of Rhome.
Flower girl was Amanda Baxter and ring bearer was William Baxter, both children of Ned and Sandy Baxter. Music was provided by Seraphim Strings of Kerrville. Soloist was Susan Summers of Round Rock.
A reception following the ceremony was given by the bride’s parents. Guest book attendant was Lindsey Fields, sister-in-law of the bride.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Ingram High School and a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M University. She is employed by Boerne Middle School South as an English teacher.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Decatur High School and a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University. He is employed as a math teacher and coach by Comfort ISD.
After a honeymoon on Maui, the couple reside in Comfort.

Holly Nicole Fain and Landon Blaine Wren, both of Lewisville, were married March 11, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Lewisville. The Rev. Russell Floyd officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Nicholas and Susan Fain of Highland Village, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.N. Fain of Dallas and Bill Johnston of Highland Village.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in rehabilitation from the University of North Texas and is a special education teacher at Lewisville High School.
Matron of honor was Christy Gowling of Lewisville. Bridesmaids were Jessica Gage of Carrollton, cousin of the groom, Courtney Wren of Lubbock, sister of the groom, and Jennifer Wren of Decatur, sister-in-law of the groom.
The groom is the son of Stephen and LaDonna Wren of Decatur, and the grandson of Penney Wren and Joe Forman, both of Decatur. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Trinity University and a master of arts degree in teaching. He is employed as a teacher and a coach at Lewisville High School.
Best man was Jason Wren of Decatur, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Josh Fostel of Abilene, Stephen Parker of Grapevine and Rusty Terrell of Fort Worth.
Ushers were Josh Sigman and Will Bunting, both of San Antonio, Eric De Los Santos of Justin, Logan Reavis of Carrollton and Travis Fain of Dallas, brother of the bride.
A reception was held at Hackberry Creek Country Club in Irving.
Following a honeymoon to Maui, the couple lives in Lewisville.

Twenty-fifth wedding anniversary Jan. 15, 2006
James and Mary Wright of Chico will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Decatur Church of Christ Jan. 14. The event will be hosted by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
James Wright and the former Mary McDaniel were married Jan. 15, 1981, in Paradise. They have five children, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
James is retired and Mary works for FEMA in Denton. They are both members of the Decatur Church of Christ.

Ray and Onie Zuber of Newark celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at their home.
Ray and the former Leona Elisabeth Smith were married Nov. 6, 1956.
Their children are Teresa Williams of Bridgeport, Cyndy Darter of Newark and Karen Drew of Azle. They have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
