Richard Martinez and the former Ethel Bolin were married June 2, 1990, in Hale Center.
Their children include: Monica and William Haller of Joshua; Daniel Nugent, Julie Brown and Amanda Nugent-Gomez and Tim of Haltom City; Rachel Martinez and Erica Martinez of Lake Worth. They have nine grandchildren.
Richard grew up in Hale Center and came to Fort Worth with the Air Force in the ’70s. He is a forklift/reach truck operator. Ethel attended school in Boyd in the ’60s.

The prospective groom graduated from Lamar High School in Houston in 2000, the University of Arkansas with a degree in biology in 2004 and the University of Arkansas School of Medical Sciences in 2011. Dr. Morse will complete obstetrics and gynecology residency at John Peter Smith in 2015.

Doug and Barbara Munn of Keller will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with “under the oaks” at their residence Oct. 13, hosted by their daughters.
Doug Munn and Barbara Burton, formerly of Decatur, were married Oct. 13, 1962, in Ponder at the home of her sister, Peggy Payne.
They have five daughters – Connie Lambert and husband, Randy, of Grapevine, Julie McLeroy and husband, Bob, of Commerce, Marcy Blagg and husband, Bob, of the Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, Daira Wilson and husband, Steve, of Austin, and Heather Huffaker and husband, Prentice, of Azle; 10 grandchildren two great-grandchildren.
After serving in the Navy, Doug was employed by telecommunications companies for 40 years.
Barbara retired in 1995 as branch manager of a Dallas mortgage banking firm.
Since their retirements, they have traveled to 39 countries. They plan to visit more states in America.
They agree that “living happily ever after begins one day at a time.”

Ringbearer was Brock Smith of Midland, grandson of Jerrod and Vicki Niblett.

A reception hosted by the couple’s family was held at the Women’s Building on the Wise County Sheriff’s Posse Grounds in Decatur.

Bill Oates and the former Emma Jean Roberts were married Nov. 10, 1962, at the Wise County Courthouse after dating only three months.
They have two sons, Willie Oates and Timothy Oates, both of Aurora; and six grandchildren.
Bill works on the dock for Roadway, and Emma Jean works for Northwest ISD.
The are both members of the Church of Christ.

Herman and the former Kaleta Simpson were married July 19, 1947, in Detroit, Texas by Justice of the Peace Austin Guess.
They had nine children: Barbara Cansler and husband, Ken; Gary Pryor, and Ray Pryor and wife, Debbie, all of Chico; Charlotte King and husband, David, of Alvord; Susan Wall and husband, Johnny, and Larry Pryor and wife, Kathy, all of Decatur; and Rocky Pryor of Illinois. Tommy Pryor died in 2008 of cancer; Jerry Dell Pryor died at birth.
The couple also have 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Herman retired from BK Trucking in Bridgeport.
Kaleta retired from in-home care and daycare.

Margaret E. and Lenard R. Reynolds of Boyd celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family Aug. 30, 2012.
Lenard, son of Arthur and Jeffie Bea Reynolds of Chillicothe, and the former Margaret E. Thompson, daughter of Walford and Daisy Thompson, were married Aug. 30, 1952, in Crowell.
They moved to the DFW area, where they raised their sons, then moved to Boyd for their retirement years and became active in mission and civic work.
Lenard served on the Boyd City Council for more than nine years, two as mayor pro tem. He was in the construction business and started and owned Len Roy Don Remodeling for 30 years. He built city water tanks for 20 years and is now a bus driver for Northwest schools.
Lenard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge in 1956.
Margaret owned and operated a florist in Colleyville and was in the antique business for 21 years. She has gone on 40 mission trips in and out of America.
They are members of the Church of Christ.
They have two sons, Roy Reynolds and wife, Cindy, of Aurora and Gary Reynolds and wife, Jan, of Tijeras, N.M.; grandchildren Reyn Reynolds and spouse, Sandra, Beau Reynolds and spouse, Stacy, and Kara Jones and spouse, Todd; great-grandchildren Payton Michele Reynolds, Grayson Luke Reynolds and two on the way.

The bride is the daughter of Todd and Jennifer Allen of Decatur.
The groom is the son of Robbie Robbins of Fort Worth and Robin Cooper of Decatur.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white gown that featured a full, layered skirt of ruffles and ruched lace over an organza-fitted bodice accented by an embellished Swarovski crystal belt and corset-back closure. She wore a fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of white and pink roses and hydrangeas.
Maid of honor was Janelle Allen. Bridesmaids were Allye Harrell, Ashlee Reed, Erica Eison, Kendall Juett and Carly Robbins.
Bridal attendants wore pewter dresses and pink shoes, and carried bouquets of pink roses.
Flower girl was Tillie Hayhurst, daughter of Conor and Laurie Hayhurst, and Emeri Ralston, daughter of Joel and Nickie Ralston.
Ringbearer was Zeke Hayhurst, son of Conor and Laurie Hayhurst.
Best man was Tyler Robbins. Groomsmen were Micheal Simmons, Trent Allen, Garrett Eison, Russell Pryor and Jonathan Jones.
Ushers were Brian Christian, Yates McCurdy and Cason Caraway.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Piazza in the Village Grand Ballroom.
The couple took a wedding trip to St. Lucia. They’re making their home in Fort Worth. The groom works for North Central Texas Truck and Trailer repair.

Don is a retired Bell Helicoper flight line mechanic. Ruby is a retired custodian and bus driver.

Vernon and the former Shelba Pate were married June 30, 1962, at Sunnyland Assembly of God Church in Houston.
Their children are Noel Ruddick and wife, LeeAnn, of Chico, Wesley Ruddick and girlfriend, Donna Martin, of Alvord, Marie “Pris” Potter and husband, Randy Sr., of Decatur and Andi Purkins and husband, Randy, of Nevada, Texas; grandchildren Whitney Buckner and husband, Curtis, Jordan Chandler, Shelbie Chandler, Cheyanne Ruddick, Katlin Purkins, Kaleb Purkins, Kolton Purkins, Ryan Ruddick, Cassie Martin and Sarah Martin; and great-grandchildren Madyson Buckner and Creese Buckner.

Tom is retired from the Wise County Sheriff’s Office. Joan is retired from the Federal Aviation Administration. Both are members of the First United Methodist Church in Boyd.

Alton is a retired welder and is involved in the National Rifle Association. He is also a Cold War veteran.
Lillie is a retired teacher and volunteers at Wise Choices Pregnancy Resource Center.
Both are involved in the Harvest Baptist Association, First Baptist Church of Decatur and Texas Alliance of Raceway Ministries.

Heather Elizabeth Sandusky and Zachary Wayne Tipton of Decatur were married July 14, 2012, at Eagle Drive Baptist Church in Decatur. Jorge Vazquez, youth pastor, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Lara Sandusky of Bella Vista, Ark., and Dave and Hollie Maltzman of Arlington.
The groom is the son of Johnny and Monica Slimp of Decatur, and Wayne and Olga Tipton of Paradise.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless empire waist gown in white featuring a pick-up skirt and a turquoise sash adorned with rhinestones. Her headpiece was a white, elbow-length double veil and rhinestone tiara.
She also wore a silver locket given to her by her grandmother, a turquoise beaded necklace and bracelet and turquoise chandelier earrings.
She carried a bouquet of white Gerbera daisies hand-tied with turquoise ribbon.
Bridesmaids were Christina Kahn of Greenwood and Sarah Stromburg of Paradise. They wore cocktail-length wrap dresses in turquoise floral, pearl earrings and mulit-strand pearl necklaces. They carried a single gerber daisy wrapped in ribbon.
Flower girls were Sara Slimp and Kaitlyn Spence, nieces of the groom. Ringbearer was Andrew Kahn, son of Jonathan and Christina Kahn of Greenwood.
Best man was James Slimp, brother of the groom, and groomsman was Cody Byrd.
Junior ushers were Matthew Sandusky, Jacob Maltzman and Aaron Maltzman, brothers of the bride, and Tyler Fisher, Travis Slimp, Trent Fisher and Josh Slough, nephews of the groom.
Pianist was Jo Joiner. The groom sang “Love Never Fails” during the ceremony.
A reception followed at the church and was hosted by the parents of the groom. Servers were Mary McGar, Beverly Robinson, Linda Pate, Saretha Riley and Patty Cook. John and Becky Dear performed a duet of “Love of My Life.”
Following a honeymoon trip to San Antonio, the couple live in Decatur.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown designed by Ulla-Maija for Neiman Marcus. The one-shoulder gown of mocha charmeuse satin featured an overlay of ivory French Alencon lace and a chapel-length train. A single layer of illustion framed her face and flowed beyond her train.
Bridesmaids were Michelle Simpson Tuegel and Maryssa Simpson, sisters of the bride, along with friends of the bride.
Honor attendants wore champagne twobirds dresses, designed to wrap in a unique style for each girl.
Best man was Derek Wallace, brother of the groom. Eight of the groom’s friends served as groomsmen.
Soloist was Maryssa Simpson, who performed an original song.
A reception was held in the Starlight Room at The Oasis, overlooking Lake Travis. The band “Identity Theft” entertained.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Bridgeport High School and a graduate of Baylor Law School. She is practicing with the firm Thompson Knight.
The groom graduated from Baylor University with a master of business administration. He is a consultant with the Dwyer Group.

Darwin and the former Brenda Wasson were married May 23, 1987, in Denton.
They have two sons. U.S. Army Specialist Brandon Wasson of Schweinfurt, Germany, currently serving in Afghanistan and Bryan White of Chico, a junior at Chico High School; and a daughter Delise White of Decatur, a jailer at the Wise County Sheriff’s Office.
The couple returned to Chico from Denton in 2002 so their kids could graduate from Chico High. They are members of First Baptist Church in Chico.

The prospective groom graduated from Bethesda Christian School in Fort Worth in 2007 and earned a bachelor of science in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2012.
He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps in May and is attending The Basic School in Quantico, Va. After graduation he will attend flight school in Pensacola, Fla.

Thomas and the former Donna Baker were married Dec. 1, 1962, at Plymouth Park Methodist Church in Irving.
They have three sons, Brad Williams of Irving, Eric Williams of North Richland Hills and Nathan Williams of Oklahoma City, and one daughter, Katrina Owens of Boyd.
The couple has one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Thomas and Donna are retired and are members of Trinity Baptist Church. Thomas is a Mason, and Donna is a member of the Parker County Quilt Guild.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Patty Schuelke of Stanton.
The groom is the son of Ren and Leisha Young of Paradise.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a royal satin ballgown with a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. The bodice was pleated and had an illusion corset in the back, forming a deep V-dropped waistline. The ballgown skirt had full scallops of satin gathered to one side and showed a layer of intricate lace underneath. The gown was embellished with beaded fabric flowers and sprinkled with Swarovski crystals. Her headpiece was a white tulle veil with a jeweled barrette. She carried a bouquet of deep pink roses, purple and fuschia orchids, blue delphinium and stephanotis studded with simulated diamonds.
Matron of honor was Tarah Scott of Abilene, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Julia Schuelke of Brownwood, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kirstyn Young of Abilene, sister of the groom, Brooke Schuelke of Stanton, sister-in-law of the bride, Kaitlyn Blocker of Stanton, cousin of the bride, Maegan Blocker of Stanton, cousin of the bride, and Cassie Emerson of Brownwood.
Honor attendants wore pewter taffeta full-length dresses with a single shoulder strap embellished with a rhinestone brooch. The bodice and dropped waist were gathered and formed into a long slim skirt. They wore royal blue or purple heels and had their hair pulled up with jeweled peacock feather clips.
They carried bouquets of deep pink roses, purple and fuschia stock, blue delphinium and peacock feathers.

The groom is a 2006 graduate of Paradise High School. He graduated from Howard Payne University with a bachelor of arts in practical theology in 2010. He is working toward his master of arts in theology and ministry from Howard Payne. He is employed by Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Following a honeymoon trip on a seven-day cruise to the islands of St. Maartens, St. Lucia and St. Kitt, the couple lives in Brownwood.
