Bill and Shirley Arrington of Bridgeport celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 1, 2016.
They were married in Madill, Okla., on Jan. 1, 1956.
They moved to Bridgeport in 1958, where Bill was employed at the Warren Petroleum Gas Processing Plant, which later became the Liquid Energy Plant. He retired in 1994.
Shirley was employed at Bridgeport Elementary School as the librarian.
The couple has two sons and daughters-in-law, Mitch and Lee Ann Arrington and Bruce and Darline Arrington, all of Bridgeport. They also have five grandchildren: Lindsey, Emily and Blake Arrington; and Alyssa and John Arrington.

The groom graduated in 2013 from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. He plans to graduate in December from the University of Texas at Arlington with a master’s degree in public administration.
The couple will live in Decatur.

The Rev. B.J. Rutledge of Grace Fellowship Church officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her father and wore a fit-and-flare corded lace gown with a sweetheart neckline, crystal buttons, rhinestone sash and chapel-length train. Her hair was adorned with a fingertip-length veil with Swarovski crystals scattered throughout and affixed with a rhinestone headband.
She carried a compact bouquet with light-pink hydrangea, soft-pink roses, pink peonies, pink ranunculus and hot-pink gerbera daisies with hints of greenery. The bouquet was banded in an antique white-satin ribbon adorned with ivory lace and pearl pins.
The bride was accompanied by her matron of honor, Aimee Burtnett, and bridesmaids Kelly Myers, Jennifer Phillips, Jeannine Powers and Belinda Shepherd.
The bridesmaids wore short, Y-necklined, pewter chiffon dresses. They carried bouquets designed with hot-pink gerbera daisies, loops of grass and hints of soft greenery. The bouquets were banded in cyclamen satin ribbon and adorned with pearl pins.
There were four flowergirls: Addison Fippinger; Lindsey Shepherd; Madeline Shepherd; and Olivia Shepherd. Ringbearer was Mason Shepherd.
The groom was accompanied by his best man, Morgan Fippinger, and groomsmen Justin Clarke, Nathan Odell, Micky Shepherd and Nick Shepherd.
Jery and Lisa Burnett were the pre-ceremony musicians.
The bride works for Bridgeport Independent School District and the groom works for Devon Energy.
The couple lives in Runaway Bay.

James married Judy Gilreath Feb. 13, 1966, in Ardmore, Okla. He is an electrical engineer, and she is a nurse. They are members of Grace Fellowship church.

A reception, catered by Rohmers Restaurant in Muenster, was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Gainesville following the ceremony.
The bride graduated from Callisburg High School in 2011, North Central Texas College in 2013 and Texas A&M University in 2015 with a degree in animal science.
The groom graduated from Alvord High School in 2011. He serves in the United States Navy.
Following a honeymoon trip to Belize, the couple live in Virginia Beach, Va.
