Bobby and Diane Barron
Bobby and Diane Barron of Boyd celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 1, 2017, at the Prairie House in Aubrey with a dinner party.
Bobby married Diane Enis March 25, 1967, in Greenwood.
They renewed their vows as part of their 50th celebration with their son-in-law performing the ceremony. Their son escorted Diane down the aisle, and their great-grandson, Cale, served as ringbearer.
Bobby has worked at Bell Helicopter for 51 years and plans to retire in September.
The couple has two children. Son Rickey Barron and wife, Kim, live in Nevada, Texas, and daughter Nicole Eminger and husband, Mike, live in Amarillo.
Grandchildren are Jeff Barron and wife, Chelsey; Corey Barron; Ryan Scobee and wife, Presli; and Brendon Eminger. Great-grandsons are Cale and Henry Barron.
The Barrons enjoy traveling to visit their grandchildren and attend their sporting events and activities.

Melinda Conklin of Weatherford, daughter of Alma Scoggins of Fort Worth, will marry Joseph Berry of Fort Worth in spring 2018 in Weatherford.

The bride-elect attended Texas State University in San Marcos.
The prospective groom attended Rice University in Houston.

Richard and Sandy Brown of Boyd celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, Feb. 17.
Richard Brown married Sandra Lou Lipstreu at First Methodist Church in Boyd on Feb. 17, 1967.
The couple has two children: Donny Brown of Springtown; and Barry Brown of Boyd. They also have three grandchildren.
Richard is self-employed and Sandy is a retired banker.

Anna Alicia Hooe of Bridgeport, daughter of Shawn and Patricia Hooe of Decatur, married Jeremy Beau Byrom of Bridgeport, son of Jeff and Jana Bramlett of Haltom City, Oct. 14, 2017, at the Decatur Visitors Center.
Stephen Ryan Hooe, brother of the bride, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a sweetheart tulle wedding dress with a pearl and rhinestone accented satin sash. Her bouquet was purple and gray roses with an accent of various purple flowers and greenery.
The maids of honor were Angela Williams and Ava and Kate Byrom. They wore dark purple dresses and carried purple and gray flowers.
The flowergirl was Arianna Hooe, and the ringbearer was Kayson Hooe, both children of Michael and Keesha Hooe.
Best man was Carter Siddoway, son of the bride.
The newly married couple hosted a reception at the visitors center following the ceremony.
For their honeymoon, they took a seven-day Caribbean cruise.
The bride graduated from Decatur High School in 2005. She works for Twisted X Boots.
The groom graduated from Haltom High School in 2005. In 2010, he received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of North Texas. He is a production manager at Clarus Glassboards.
The couple plan to live in Bridgeport.

Ken and Joelle Cannon of Decatur will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 27, 2017.
Ken married Joelle Cloyd Jan. 27, 1967, in Alva, Okla.
The couple has two sons, Wesley Cannon of Decatur and David Cannon of Conroe; and five grandchildren.
Ken founded Cannon Roofing in 1995. Semi-retired, he is an elder at Trinity Fellowship.
Joelle is a retired accountant for University of North Texas. She volunteers at MTC Women’s Facility in Bridgeport where she teaches sewing classes. Her students use their skills to provide Moses baskets that are donated to Wise Choices in Decatur and Bowie Pregnancy Center. Crocheted items are also given to Wise Health System.
To celebrate their anniversary, their sons are sending the couple on a tour of Israel.

Coy and Linda Cleveland of Cottondale will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary June 8, 2017, with a family dinner.
Coy married Linda Howard on June 8, 1962. They met on the Decatur square in February 1960. He was driving a 1956 Ford (pictured above).
The couple has two children, Sherri Vincent of Decatur and Carlin Ashton of Frisco. They have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The Clevelands are farmers and members of Cottondale Church of Christ.

The bride-elect graduated from Decatur High School in 2014 and attends Texas Woman’s University, studying education EC-6 with ESL certification.
The prospective groom also graduated from DHS in 2014. He attended Weatherford College and is a firefighter for the Dallas Fire Department.
The couple plans to live in Decatur.

The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of Gunter High School. She graduated in 2014 from West Texas A&M and in 2016 from the Baylor School of Medicine where she earned a Master of Science degree in orthotics and prosthetics. She is employed with the Hanger Clinic in Fort Worth.
The prospective groom graduated from Paradise High School in 2008. He is employed with Martin Marietta.

Allison Brooke of Midlothian married Lane Duwe of Fort Worth Oct. 15, 2016, in an outdoor wedding at the home of the groom’s parents, Rick and Andrea Duwe, in Greenwood.
Pastor John Redfearn officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The groom’s father escorted the bride.
The matron of honor was Tabitha Miller. Bridesmaids were Ashley Worthington, Audrey Duwe, Kelly Fishback and Donna Mitchell.
The best man was Dave Duwe. The groomsmen were Jesse Bradford, Luke Bradford, Randy Hogue and Zack Silva.
The groom’s parents hosted a reception immediately following the ceremony.
The couple spent their honeymoon in St. Lucia.
They live in Midlothian.

The prospective groom graduated from DHS in 2005. He was in the United States Air Force from 2005 to 2010. He expects to graduate from American Intercontinental University in 2019 with a degree in business administration with operations control. He works as a salesman for Premier Truck Group.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a white lace dress with bell sleeves. Her hair was in long curls with gemstones, and she carried a bouquet of magnolias with gemstones, pearls and flowing ribbons.
The couple’s son, River B. Finley, was the ringbearer.
The bride’s family hosted a reception at Bono’s. Lori Rodgers was the server.

The Rev. Rocky Johnson from Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her father.
She carried white roses and blue hydrangea.
The matron of honor was Stormi Wilson and bridesmaids were Brylee Ward, Lindsay Haley, Michaela Kling, Kaylee White, Tierany Read, Grace Elerson and Lauren Gomez.
Flowergirls were Austin Etter, Ellie Gomez, Sophie Gomez and Joli Gomez. Ringbearers were Tatum Kling, Camden King, Bo Gomez and Eli Gomez.
Best man was Gabriel Gomez and groomsmen were Chance Wallace, Josh Tucker, Blair Magee, Trent Termin, Caid Faske, Micah Elerson, Colton Lyon and Cody Drake.
Ryan Haley served as usher.
The bride’s parents held a reception at Swatsellville Saloon in Grand Prairie.
The bride graduated from Boyd High School and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She works at Canton Elementary School.
The groom graduated from Canton High School and Texas A&M Commerce. He is employed at Canton High.
The couple will live in Canton.

The prospective groom is a 2010 graduate of Decatur High School and was a member of the 2009 national champion tractor restoration team. He graduated from Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater and is employed with Vestas Upwind Solutions.

Buck and Melba Griffin of North Richland Hills celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary July 24.
Buck married Melba Acher in Fort Worth on July 24, 1947. They met in New Mexico, after their eyes met across the dance floor. He had served in the Navy during World War II.
The couple has three children: Candyce Drum of Austin; Mark Griffin of Haltom City; and Brad Griffin of North Richland Hills. They have nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Both Buck and Melba work in real estate and have developments in Wise County.

Joe Hale married Berniece Rawle July 13, 1947, at the parsonage of pastor Elmer Taylor in Decatur.
The Decatur couple has three children: Glenda Terrell and husband, Rodney; Ronnie Hale and wife, Tonya; and Connie Redwine and husband, Tony, all from Decatur.
The couple also has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Joe is retired from Mitchell Energy, and Berniece is retired from Decatur ISD food services. Both are members of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
They celebrated their anniversary with a lunch with family and friends.

Dan and Glenda married Sept. 15, 1967, at Cuba Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
The couple have two children: Lori Hyden and husband, Gary, of Claremore, Okla; and Chad Harvey and wife, Amanda, of Decatur. They also have five grandchildren.
Dan is retired from Oncor, and Glenda is a homemaker.
The family will host a celebration 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Catfish O’Harlies in Decatur.

The prospective groom graduated from Forney High School and Tarleton State. He works for Nation Direct Mortgage.
Randy Adamson of Jacksonville served as pianist and soloist. He performed “Forever and Ever, I Do” and “This Ring.”
The reception was held at the church.
The couple plans to live in Fort Scott, Kan.

Ronald and Linda Hubbard of Decatur celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 9.
Ronald married Linda Spunaugle at Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur on June 9, 1967.
The couple’s children are Pamela Lambert and Randy Hubbard and wife, Stephanie, all from Decatur. The Hubbards have four grandchildren.
Ronald is retired from Hubbard Construction and from farming. Linda is a housewife and a farmer’s wife. Both are members of Eagle Drive Baptist Church in Decatur.
They will observe their anniversary with a trip at a later date.

Pastor Louis Horton officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride’s father escorted her down the aisle.
She wore a full-length, white dress with a train and shrug that had beads and lace. Her veil was hip-length, and she carried burgundy, white and red flowers.
Matron of honor was Charity Dull of Beardon, Ark., a friend from college. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Prudeohl of St. Charles, Minn., and Hannah Grabanski of Kennett, Mo., both college friends.
The bride’s attendants wore dusty-rose dresses and tan shrugs. They carried flowers similar to, but smaller than, the bride’s bouquet.
The flower girl was Katelyn Solis, daughter of Ryan and Makaylah Solis of Jacksonville, Ark. Ringbearer was Nathan Black, son of Kevin and Sarah Black of Fulton, Kan.
The groom’s best man was his brother-in-law, Kevin Black, of Fulton. Groomsmen included the groom’s cousin, Levi Stevicks of Kansas and friend Andrew Colishaw of Kansas.
The bride’s brother, Andrew Brooks of Alvord and a friend, Michael Spears of Kansas served as ushers.

Blake Slatten of Antioch Church in Oklahoma City officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her father.
The maid of honor was Ali Agee of Oklahoma City. Bridesmaids included: Annie Trant of The Colony; Carlye McQuiston, Melissa Park, Dusti Grantham and Kristen Cash, all of Norman; and Alexandra Koch of Tulsa.
The flower girl was Eloise Deskin of Norman.
In the house party were Racey Burden of Decatur and Emily Stallard of Waco.
Best man was Matt Sewell of Oklahoma City. Groomsmen were Kyle Williams and Matt Marshall, both of Tulsa, Evan Wilson of Oklahoma City, Bryson Beck of Norman and Tyrus Williams of Decatur.
The reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at the Theater.
The couple plan to live in Oklahoma City.
The bride graduated from Decatur High School in 2011. She received a bachelor’s degree in human relations in 2015 and a master’s in adult and higher education in 2017, both from the University of Oklahoma. She works for University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
The groom graduated from Jenks High School in Tulsa. He received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from OU in 2015. He works for Mass Architects Inc. in Oklahoma City.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Paradise High School. She graduated from ATI in North Richland Hills in 2008 and is a dental assistant in Denton.
The prospective groom graduated from Bridgeport High School in 2006. He is self-employed.
