    To find Cottondale Cemetery go out Fm Rd 2123 to CR 3585 (by the Diamond Shamrock Grocery). Go south on CR 3585 about a hundred yards and turn right on CR 3571. The cemetery is behind the Community Chapel.

    The gate has the date 1885 on it. In 2017 the contact name for lot information is Georgia Morris 940-577-2458.

    The first picture below was taken in 2013. The second picture was 13 years earlier when we took pictures in the cemetery.

    This cemetery is beautifully laid out with cement roads and walks between the rows. We used the roads to divide the cemetery into 4 sections and the cement walks to number our rows.
    At the time of our survey in March of 2000 there were 758 headstones. Several of the headstones were only small markers with limited information on them. We included what we could read.

    Below is an example of strange spelling that is not our mistake. In one row, together, were: (Note 4 spellings of last name)

'Machine Gun Kelley' is buried in this cemetery. At one time, we are told, there was a large headstone, but it was destroyed. This flat stone now marks the grave.
